Celebrities Line Up To Play In Sky Poker Tour
John McCririck, Kitty Lea and Mickey Hazard to pit poker skills in 150 seat tournament
The Sky Poker tour live is in full swing again and there are no seats left for the forthcoming 150 seat tournament at Luton’s G Casino on Saturday 6th March 2010. Sky Poker are the first multiplatform poker room, and they are playing host to a compendium of celebrities in this sold out leg of their famous live tour. Horse racing pundit, John McCririck; Kitty Lea, listed as one of Front Magazine’s fittest women ever; former Tottenham, Chelsea and Portsmouth midfielder, Micky Hazard and Johnny Nelson, former WBO Cruiserweight World Champion will all be strutting the green baize.
John McCririck may be an old contentious fool to many, however when it comes to the poker table he is no rookie. John plays poker whenever he is in Las Vegas as well as playing on Sky TV and at their live Sky Tour games. Asked about the difference between poker and horse racing, John said: “The big difference is that in poker you make the decisions, with other betting events you are betting on other people, that is why poker is so popular. It is your fault whether you win or not!” Well, there may be a little more in it than that John, however, for now we will give you the benefit of the doubt.
Model, actress and DJ, Kitty Lea was introduced to poker by an ex boyfriend who was a professional poker player. Kitty likes to play poker on a regular basis, but only when she is in the mood: “I don’t want to be playing when I’m tired and grumpy as I will just end up losing,” Kitty says.
One time footballer, Mickey Hazard plays poker at home quite often, although he also plays on Sky TV too. He actually finished 9th in the recent Sky Poker 500. When comparing poker to football Mickey says there are some similarities: “The similarity is that you have to use your brain to think and out think and out maneuver the opposition.”
Johnny Nelson, Sheffield’s WBO Cruiserweight World Champion since 1999, plays poker on a regular basis and has also appeared on Sky Poker. He says that “the meaning ‘poker face’ is something all boxers need to succeed.”
The Luton leg of the Sky Poker Tour is now completely sold out, however, you can still qualify for seats for the remaining legs of the Sky Poker Tour in Glasgow on 8th May, Swansea on 10th July and Nottingham on 11th and 12th of September – please Visit Sky Poker
